MMAvalor Betting Corner [UFC 102]

UFC 102 is just 3 days away and it’s getting down to the wire to place your bets. I will review the fights on the main card fight and give my take on the lines. The odds I show are the best odds shown on www.mmamoneyline.com. Let get started:
Randy Couture (-165) vs. Antonio Nogueira (+145) – My pick ~ Couture @ -165
Couture’s line was actually holding around -190 up until a few days ago. Couture will out box Nogueira all night while negating the take downs. Frank Mir out boxed Nogueira in his last fight and Couture is a much better boxer then Mir. Really couture should be a much bigger favorite then the current -165 line.
Nate Marquardt (-165) vs. Demian Maia (+150) – My pick ~ Demian Maia @ +150
This fight is my pick to be the fight of the night. Maia is undefeated at 11-0 and is just a submission machine. All 5 of his fights inside the cage and 8 overall have ended via submission. Marquardt also likes the submission game but I cannot see him pulling one on Maia. Marquardt’s only chance is to keep the fight standing and out point Maia. Once the fight hit the ground Maia should win.
Keith Jardine (-140) vs. Thiago Silva (+135) – My pick ~ Thiago Silva @ +135
The odds on the fight have been moving since the day it was posted. Silva’s line opened around +200 and has been dropping ever since. If you got him at those lines you got yourself a steal. We have seen what happens to Jardine when his opponent comes at him like Houston Alexander & Wanderlei Silva. Thiago Silva is that same type of fighter and will come forward and KO Jardine just like the others.
Brandon Vera (-185) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (+175) – My Pick ~ Soszynski @ +175
This one is a really tough one to call. Vera just hasn’t looked that good to me in a long time. He was also originally scheduled to face Matt Hamill before he got injured. Soszynski is a totally different fighter then Hamiil is so that also has to play into things. Soszynski is a big 205 fighter has been on a tear since his days on the Ultimate Fighter. I think it could go either way but I like the odds on Soszynski here.
Jake Rosholt (+120) vs. Chris Leben (+135) – My pick ~ Jake Rosholt @ +120
Leben hasn’t fought since his lose via decision to Michael Bisping 10 months ago. There really is no secret what each fighter wants to do here. Leben wants to stand and knock you out & Rosholt was to grind it out on the ground. I see Rosholt having no problems taking Leben down at will. If he stays away for the KO punch then he’ll wrestle his way to a decision.
Since I’m rolling with the underdogs this card I got one more for you.
Ed Herman (-130) vs. Aaron Simpson (+120) – My pick ~ Aaron Simpson @ +120
Simpson is a very strong wrestler with good ground and pound. Herman hasn’t looked good inside the cage when the fight goes to the ground. I see Simpson taking Herman down do some ground and punch until the Ref. Steps in.
