End of the year ranks are up.
The end of the year fighter rankings are now up and they didn’t change much from last month. What did change was the panel is now 8 members strong which is great and we have a female on the panel (Grapplegurl). Please check out the panel members website or follow them on twitter, without them the rankings wouldn’t be legit. I would really like to get to ten members by adding 2 more female members so if your interested please email me.
A few things this time around that stood out were Shane Carwin and his inactivity fell out of the top 5. Kenny Florian with his great performance against Clay Guida made the top 5 at #4 and Diego Sanchez is barely holding onto 5th place. The last thing was that Gilbert Melendez who recently won the Strikeforce lightweight title didn’t make the top 5, in fact he only made 2 of the 8 panel members list. Guess he was right about not getting any respect!
As part of the year end I asked the panel members to give me there top 3 pound for pound fighters and here were the results:
1 – Georges St. Pierre
2 – Anderson Silva
3 – Fedor Emelianko

We were but only two others did it so I dropped the idea. The others did pick Aldo so you can say the he is are Fighter of the year .
