Strikeforce Heavy Artillery Predictions
Posted by Joshua Wood (Editor in Chief)May 12
On Satrurday the Strikeforce Heavyweight title will be on the line for the first time in 30 months with Alistair Overeem takes on Brett Rogers in the Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery main event. Overeem has been fighting oversea since then and no one other then him knows why he hasn’t defended the belt until now. Rogers is coming off a lose to the #1 heavyweight in the world Fedor Emelianenko but still go the first shot at the title. If you ask Overeem that’s because Fedor has been ducking him for years but who knows.
Also on the card is another Heavyweight fight between Antonio Silva and Andrei Arlovski, who hasn’t fought in 11 months when he lost to Brett Rogers. Both fighters are coming off a lose in their last fight as Silva lost to Fabrico Werdum back in November. The two are in need of a win to get themselves back into the title mix. Also on the card is Roger Gracie making his Strikeforce debut against powerful striker Kevin Randleman. This fight was in jeopardy because Randleman was recovering from a staph infection but was given clearance to fight so all is well. Ronaldo “Jacare” will be taking on Joey Villasenor is what should be a very entertaining Middleweight fight.
Rounding off the main card is a Light Heavyweight bout between Antwain Britt and Rafael cavalcante. The last fight I’m going to give my picks for is the undercard fight at Lightweight between Lyle Beerbohn and Vitor Ribeiro which might steal the show for the fans watching live. Should be a fun night of fights on Showtime and as always come join the live chat during the fights. Here are my predictions.
265 lbs.: Alistair Overeem over Brett Rogers
265 lbs.: Antonio Silva over Andrei Arlovski
185 lbs.: Ronaldo Souza over Joey Villasenor
205 lbs.: Roger Gracie over Kevin Randleman
205 lbs.: Antwain Britt over Rafael Cavalcante
155 lbs.: Lyle Beerbohm over Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro

I agree with all of those picks except I’m taking Arlovski over “Big Foot”. I think his new training regime will show a huge improvement.
