Keith Jardine vs Trevor Prangley at Shark Fights 13
Recently released light heavyweight, Keith Jardine (15-8-1) will get first post UFC fight against Trevor Prangley (22-6-1). According to Sherdog.com the fight will take place on September 11th at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 in Lubbock, Texas.
Prangley is actually the promotions light heavyweight champion, earning the belt at Shark Fights 7 with a first round submission over Marcus Sursa. The fight with Jardine though will not be for that light heavyweight belt. Since winning the belt, the South African Prangley dropped down to 185 lbs. and fought twice for Strikeforce going 0-1 with one draw.
Jardine will look to get himself out of a hole he dug by losing four fights in a row, which got him cut from the UFC following a majority decision lost to Matt Hamill. The 34-year-old cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 2 has only won two of his last eight fights, but does hold wins over two former UFC champs in Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin.
Both fighters desperately need a win to get their career back on track, but the younger Jardine needs it a lot more them Prangley. If Jardine loses a fifth fight in a row, his fighting days just might be over or at least fighting for the bigger promotions will be.
