sf13 poster 228x300 Shark Fights 13 complete breakdownThis Saturday live on pay-per-view you will be able to catch Shark Fights 13: Jardine vs Prangley from Amarillo, TX. This card has a lot of top name contenders and former UFC veterans the top to bottom. The card is headlined by “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine (15-8-1) who will be making his return since being release from the UFC.

The first fight of the evening will be between welterweights, Pete Spratt (21-17) and Eric Davila (17-10). They both come into this bout with good submission game, Spratt has 8 submissions and Davila has 12, but don’t count Spratt out for the knockout. Spratt holds 11 knockout victories but Davila has never been knocked out in 27 fights. This fight will likely end in a submission or come down to the judges.

Next up in the lightweight division, we have Daniel Straus (13-3) and Karen Darabedyn (9-3).  Straus took the fight on short notice and is coming into this fight winning 8 consecutive fights while Darabedyn has lost his last 2 due to submission. With these two fighters most of their victories have come by way of decision. This should be a brawl to the end, but what roll will taking the fight on short notice play for Straus.

In the heavyweight division we have Aaron Rosa (14-3) squaring off with Devin Cole (14-7-1).  Both fighters like to stand and bang and finish most of their fights via TKO or KO. Both of these fighters ended their last fight by TKO (punches) and will look to do the same in this matchup.

In our next welterweight bout we have Paul Bradley (12-2-1) and Johnny Rees (12-2). Bradley will have his hands full trying to stay off the ground with Rees, who has 10 submission victories out of his 12 wins. Bradley will look to keep the fight standing to knock Rees out or control this fight and grind out a close decision.

Next up will be a featherweight championship bout between Ronnie Mann (17-2-1) and Doug Evans (10-6). Evans won his last fight via heel hook against Dustin Phillips to maintain his belt. Mann is coming into this fight with a stronger record than Evans and is hoping to prove that he should be the new featherweight champion. Roughly 60% of these fighters bout come by the way of submission, so let the ground war begin.

Next fight of the evening will be between welterweights Tarec Saffiedine (9-2) and Brock Larson (29-4). Saffiedine comes to this fight with only 11 fights under his belt while the Veteran Larson comes to the table with 33 fights, triple the experience.

Joey Villasenor (27-7) will face off with Danillo Villefort (11-3) in a middleweight bout. Villasenor is looking to come into this fight and pull off a win to bounce back from his last fight against Ronaldo Souza which he lost via unanimous decision. Villefort replaced Drew Mcfedries a week before the fight and has won 4 of his last 5 bouts. Both of these fighters could look to end this fight either by (T)KO or submission, so this will be a fight to keep you guessing.

Next bout of the night will be between Jorge Masvidal (20-5) and Paul Daley (24-9-2). Since his release from the UFC, Daley fought one other time and looks to find a home. He may have found that home with Shark Fights and will try to make a great first impression by beating Masvidal. Masvidal last two bouts have gone the distance and came down to a split decision. Misvidal will have to look to do more against the aggressive Daley but he must what out for Daley’s big punches.

Finally, we have reached our Co-Main event of the evening. This is going to be a battle in the light heavyweight division with Rameau Soukoudjou (9-6) and Houston Alexander (10-6). Alexander has won 2 out of his last 7 bouts. Soukoudjou comes to this bout winning two in a row and 4 of his last 6. Soukoudjou and Alexander have been very inconsistent throughout their career, but both fighters look to knock you out, and that’s what makes this one a must see.

Now we have reached the main event for Shark Fights 13 where we have “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine (15-8-1) and Trevor Prangley (22-6-1).  After his release from the UFC almost 3 months ago, Jardine will look to make a huge impression for the promotion by beating current light heavyweight champion Trevor Prangley. Jardine comes into this having lost 4 and must bounce back and make a statement to all the promotions out there.

Current light heavyweight champ, Prangley, will look to put an end to Jardine’s career with a win Saturday. In his last bout Prangley lost to Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce: LA by first round submission. Prangley will look to take Jardine to the ground to put a stop to the confusing unorthodox fighting style Jardine packs.

Shark Fights 13 is stacked card from top to bottom which should bring fans some great fights. You can watch the undercard fights for free on Sherdog.com and the main card will be live on PPV.
