UFN 22 Marquardt vs Palhares weigh in results
With just over 24 hours until UFC Fight Night 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares, the day before fight night was occupied by a Q & A session with Middleweight fighter Chael Sonnen. Not only did he talk about his rematch with Anderson Silva, he also took the time address any talks about fighting outside the Middleweight division. In typical Sonnen style, he held nothing back, calling out GSP on his “three dollar dates and thirty cent tan” and even getting into Brock Lesnar with his “five dollar haircut and big knife tattooed on his chest.”
The Q & A was a great lead up to a nearly seamless Weigh In. Rafael Natal and Rousimar Palares came in half a pound over, but made weight the second time after stripping down. Efrain Escudero cam in four pounds overweight and nobody seemed shocked by it, including Escudero himself.
The highlight moments include a very intense stare down between Ross Pearson and Cole Miller and Kyle Kingsbury coming out in only his shorts and a fanny pack. After he weighed in, Kyle responded via twitter saying “it holds special powers… and my blackberry, wallet and food.” The official weights are as follows:
