For the first time in the history of the company, the UFC will be traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana for its next live event. On Saturday, September 25, fans from all over will fill the seats of the Canseco Fieldhouse for UFC 119 headlined by Frank Mir and Mirko “CroCop” Flipovic. Originally, it was supposed to be a rematch from UFC 92 between Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, but a month before the fight, Big Nog had to pull out due to a recurring hip injury that required surgery.  

Since the announcement of this card, many have said that it will be a boring card and not worth buying. As usual people like to complain, and then come Saturday night those same people are talking about how great the card was.Below is the main card breakdown, to check out the preliminary breakdown make sure to click here.  The opening bout on the Main Card being broadcast live on PPV will be a heated battle between Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard (24-8-2) and Jeremy “Lil Heathen” Stephens (18-5). Leading up to this fight, there has been a lot of trash talking from both sides, which should fuel this fight and put it in contention for the Fight of the Night bonus.  With plenty of finishes between the two, and riding similar 2-fight win streaks, this is sure to be a definite war.  After a 16-month absence following a loss to current Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar, former champion Sean “Muscle Shark” Sherk (33-4-1) makes his return to take on rising star Evan “3-D” Dunham (11-0).  Although Sherk is a very well-rounded fighter, having nearly equal victories by KO, Submission and Decision, he may not be able to cool the hot streak of Dunham. Dunham will need to use his height and reach advantage to control Sherk and pull off one of the biggest victories in his career. A win for Sherk may show that he can still be a factor in the Lightweight division, but a loss could seal the end of his time in the UFC.  The next bout is a rematch from four years ago as TUF 4 winner Matt “The Terror” Serra (11-6) takes on TUF 4 runner-up Chris “Lights Out” Lytle (29-17-5). Since they last fought, these two men have taken two different paths, greatly improved, and are now crossing paths once again. Ironically, “Lights Out” Lytle has won the majority of his fights by submission, but may have some difficulty tapping out Serra and his 2^nd-degree BJJ Black belt. A win for either man could determine what path they will travel down next. Can Serra pull off a repeat performance of their first fight or will Lytle get his revenge?The co-main event of the evening is a Light Heavyweight match up between “Little Nog” Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (19-3) and Ryan “Darth” Bader (11-0). Coming off a controversial decision victory over Jason Brilz, Little Nog will be looking to show UFC fans that he can perform like he used to back in his PRIDE days. The underrated Bader, however, will try to be the next ASU wrestler to take out a Nogueira. The winner of this fight is thought to be the next opponent for Jon “Bones” Jones, although nothing has been confirmed by UFC officials. A win for Bader may finally earn him the respect he has yet to receive.Now for the main event of the evening: a Heavyweight bout between Frank Mir (13-5) and Mirko “Cro Cop” Flipovic (28-7-2-1). Cro Cop fills in, as a favor to the UFC, for an injured Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on just one month’s notice.  Mir is coming off a brutal KO at the hands of Shane Carwin and will need a decisive win to get back in the title mix. Cro Cop is fresh off a submission victory of Pat Barry, in a fight that many say should’ve been finished by Barry had he not given so much respect to Cro Cop. While Mir is 3-2 in his last five fights, three of which were for the Championship, he still needs a couple more wins before he will be considered for another shot at the belt.A week before the scheduled fight, it was reported that Cro Cop had suffered and eye injury that might force him to pull out. Upon doctors’ inspection, it was determined that everything was good enough for the fight to proceed as planned.  Although Cro Cop is famous for his “right leg: hospital, left leg: cemetery” quote in reference to his kickboxing background, he has not finished a fight via head kick in quite some time.Who will back up the trash talk? Who will propel themselves closer to a title shot? Can a career be resurrected? Can Cro Cop bring back his infamous head kick?
