Ben Henderson Will Likely Face Mark Bocek in UFC Debut

After losing his WEC lightweight title by unanimous decision over Anthony Pettis, Ben Henderson (12-2) will likely begin his journey back to the top on April 30th. With verbal agreements in place, the bout is set to take place at UFC 129 in Toronto against the Canadian Mark Bocek (9-3).

Bocek is coming off an impressive first round submission over BJJ specialist Dustin Hazelett at UFC 124. Following the victory Bocek called out rising star George Sotiropoulos in his post fight interview with Joe Rogan. Ultimately Bocek didn’t get his wish but did get a former title holder and arguably a bigger name in Henderson.

Henderson gets a tough draw in his first UFC bout, but coming off loser the belt what a better way to get you back into the hunt.  Before his lose at WEC 53, Henderson was undefeated in the WEC at 5-0 having beaten such names as Jamie Varner, Shane Roller and Donald Cerrone.

UFC 129 is scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight title match between the beloved Canadian Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields. Also on the card is a Light heavyweight fight between Lyoto Machida and MMA Legend Randy Couture. The UFC will be making its debut in Toronto, having held previous events in Canada in Montreal and Vancouver.
