In such a physically demanding sport as MMA, injuries are inevitable. Former WEC Champion Carlos Condit knows this all too well, as he has been forced out of his bout with Chris Lytle due to a knee injury.
With Condit out, the UFC has reached out to Brian Ebersole as a replacement for Condit. A veteran of the sport, Ebersole has been fighting all over the world in many different organizations. Coming into his UFC debut on a seven-fight win streak, Ebersole will look to make the best of being a late replacement and add another win to his record. Ebersole’s current claim to fame is that he has never been knocked out, though it isn’t guaranteed to hold up when he steps in against a man nicknamed “Lights Out”.
Lytle will now face Brian Ebersole
Lytle is similar to Ebersole in the aspect of being in the sport for a long time. He has been competing in the UFC since his stint on season four of The Ultimate Fighter and has compiled an impressive resume of victories. Currently riding a four-fight win streak, Lytle aims at continuing his ascent up the middleweight rankings. Lytle is arguably only one or two fights away from title contention.
UFC 127 takes place February 26 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia. Headlining the card will be a welterweight bout between Jon Fitch and BJ Penn.
