Tomorrow night the all things MMA channel, HDNet will add another promotion to their already impressive lineup. Live from the Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas Shark Fights 14 will air for the first time on HDnet. A deep fight card featuring a whopping 14 bouts overall, including a televised main card of five fights.
The night’s main event is a welterweight bout between veteran MMA veteran Matt Horwich (26-17-1) against American Top Team product Danillo Villefort (12-3). Horwich is coming off a TKO victory over the former UFC fighter Jake Rosholt at last Novembers Xtreme Fight Night, but is only 4-7 over his last 11 fights. Villefort on the other hand is riding a three fight win streak and won eight of his last nine fights. Villefort most recently defeated Joey Villasenor by unanimous decision at Shark Fights 13.
A rematch between Houston Alexander and James Irvin was suppose to be the night co-main event, but the fight was cancelled on March 2nd due to a training injury suffered by Houston Alexander and a failed drug test by James Irvin. The new co-main event will be a female bout in the 125 pound division between veterans Tara LaRosa (19-2) and Carina Damm (15-5).
The remaining main card fights include two welterweight bouts and one bantamweight bout that matches up two young fighters with unbeaten records. The remaining main card bouts and the complete Shark Fights 14 card in listed below, along with our predictions for the main card.
