Cagesport 14 Happens This Saturday With Two Title Fights
This Saturday from the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington Brian Halquist Productions presents CageSport 14. For the first time in the promotions history two CageSport titles will be on the line on the same card in both the welterweight and light heavyweight divisions.
Tim Welch (4-2) will take on the 11 year MMA veteran Eddy Ellis (15-15-1) for the welterweight championship. Welch will turn 21 two days after fighting for the title and has gone 3-0 under the CageSport banner, last fighting on May 15, 2010, knocking out Jose Rico in just 23 seconds. Ellis is riding a three fight winning streak but last fought at CageSport 5 nearly two years ago where he defeated Stryder Davis by first round submission.
For the light heavyweight title Trevor Smith (6-1) will take on Jared Torgeson (6-6) in the night co-main event. Smith was an All-American at Burien’s Highlight Community College before wrestling at Iowa State University a victory over the former CageSport heavyweight champion Matt Kovacs in 2010.
Highlighting the undercard will be a heavyweight bout between Kovacs and Kyle Keeney (10-5).
First fight on the card will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35, $55 and $100 and are available at the Emerald Queen Casino box office 1-888-831-7655 and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
