For month’s UFC President Dana White has had nothing but good things to say about Jason “Mayhem” Miller and that he would welcome him back to the UFC if his Strikeforce contract were to expire. Well that’s exactly what happened yesterday as “Scoop McGuillicutty” (Ariel Helwani) reported Miller has signed with the UFC and will return to the Octagon.

The last time we saw Mayhem in the UFC he fought at Welterweight and valiantly lost a Unanimous Decision to George St. Pierre back at UFC 52: Couture vs. Liddell 2. Since then he has bounced around between many fighting organizations such as Icon Sports, DREAM, WEC and most recently, Strikeforce.

With the UFC’s Middleweight Division being dominated my current champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva, Mayhem could definitely jump in the mix and stir things up. According to Mayhem, he would “beat the breaks off most of the guys in the UFC’s Middleweight division.” With that being said, let’s take a look at some potential opponents.

Alan “The Talent” Belcher- Having recovered from eye surgery, no return date has been set for The Talent yet. A fight with Miller in both of their UFC returns would be a good test to see where each one is really at in terms of being able to handle the return. Belcher might be the front runner to welcome Miller back to the UFC as Miller himself hinted via twitter that all signs pointed to Belcher as his opponent.

Michael “The Count” Bisping- With Chael Sonnen on an indefinite “vacation” and Bisping still running his mouth, who better than the man called Mayhem to come in and try to shut him up. The pre-fight antics alone would be fireworks. Mayhem, being the host of MTV’s Bully Beatdown, would be the perfect guy to come in and take Bisping who has been acting like a bully as of late.

“All-American” Brian Stann- coming off an impressive victory over Chris Leben this January, a fight with Mayhem would be a good chance for Stann to show off his ever-improving skill set. It would also be a good chance for him to prove he belongs near the upper tier of the division.

“Filthy” Tom Lawlor- This is a match made in comedy heaven. Between the two of them, this fight could possibly end up having, not only the best weigh-in, but also the best entrance. With Mayhem having won the World MMA Award for Most Memorable Ring Entrance and Lawlor being a nominee, the moments before the fight could possibly be more entertaining than any we’ve seen before.

Stay tuned to MMA Valor to see if any of these possibilities come to fruition or if Joe Silva has something different planned for Mayhem Miller’s return to the UFC.
