BAMMA Announces Complete Fight Card for BAMMA 6
The leading Mixed Martial Artist promotion in Europe, British Association of Mixed Martial Arts finalized their BAMMA 6 card titled “Kong vs. Ninja” which takes place at the Wembley Arena in London on Saturday May 21st.
Headlined by a BAMMA middleweight championship bout between Tom “Kong” Watson (13-4) defending his belt for the second time against MMA veteran Murilo “Ninja” Rua (20-11-1). Watson retained his BAMMA title in his last fight at BAMMA 4 by defeating Alex Reid by Unanimous decision. After winning four in a row, Rua lost his last bout against a heavy (weighted 5.5 lbs. heavy) Roy Boughton last October.
In the co-main event of the evening, top Middleweight title prospect, John Phillips (13-3-0) will take on PRIDE and UFC veteran Frank Trigg (20-8-0). Phillips returns to BAMMA after a devastating 90 second TKO win against Cage Rage veteran James Zikic at BAMMA 4. Standing in his way of a possible title shot will be Frank Trigg, who’ll be making his promotional debut when he takes on the Welsh prospect.
The BAMMA 6 card was supposed to also feature the New York Badass Phil Baroni but an injury suffered in his last fight forced a medical suspension that prevents him from fighting again in May. His scheduled opponent, Matt Ewin remains on the card though and will take on the long time UFC veteran Ivan Salaverry, making his return to MMA after a 3 year retirement to make his BAMMA debut.
As well as being able to watch the top 3 fights live, for the first time ever, fans in the UK and around the World will be able to watch the preliminary card via BAMMA.TV. A selection of fights from the prelims will be available live with the rest available on-demand after the event. Fans can now pre-register on BAMMA.TV for the event.
