Villasenor vs Camozzi to headline Shark Fights 15
The Texas-based mixed martial arts promotion Shark Fights will venture outside the state for their next event, Shark Fights 15. The card was made official today and will take place at the Santa Ana Star Center in Albuquerque, N.M. on May 27th.
Headlining their 16th show will be middleweights Joey Villasenor (27-8) and Chris Camozzi (14-4). The rest of the card is yet to be determined but tickets for the event are on sale now.
The MMA veteran Villasenor last fought at Shark Fights 13, losing to Danillo Villefort by decision. Having competed in KOTC, EliteXC and Strikeforce, Villasenor holds victories over Ryan Jensen, Phil Baroni and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos.
Camozzi was last in action at UFC 127 in February where he lost to Kyle Noke via submission. A cast member of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 11, Camozzi was forced to leave very early in the show due to a broken jaw. Despite a 2-1 record in the UFC he was released following the loss to Noke.
Shark Fights have aired in the past on HDNet yet it’s unknown yet where their event on May 27th will broadcast.
