ADCC Brings Back The Superfight

Recent announcements have left Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fans in utter shock and excitement for the potential greats to be returning to action in one great world championship event. The event takes place in Nottingham England on September 24th and 25th. The ADCC is better known as the Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championships and has quickly become the worlds most intense and legitimate Jiu Jitsu tournament since it began in 1998.

In an open weight finale to the tournament the “absolute” division will pair many stars from Jiu Jitsu and MMA’s past present and future grapplers to decide who the ultimate world champion in the sport is. Eddie Bravo will re-match Royler Gracie whom he submitted via triangle choke when he was merely a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. This promises to be the most heated of the bouts seeing the feud has been escalating over many years between the Gracie family and 10th planet Jiu Jitsu.

Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza will face Braulio Estima pitting arguably the best grappler in MMA against one of the best in the world, which pretty much guarantees the fans a great grappling chess match. Last but not least, Renzo Gracie will face Mario Sperry who is a highly decorated ADCC champion and has won many honors in the sport.

Fans of Jiu Jitsu love that the superfights are once again becoming popular as it will drive more eyes, money, and fans into one of the best practices of MMA. In this case “the gentle sport” may become very intense, so be sure to catch these live before waiting a few weeks to see them on another YouTube highlight reel.
