Dan Lauzon to Fight for the WCF Lightweight Title
Former UFC fighter Dan Lauzon (14-4) will be making his return to the Massachusetts-based promotion, World Championship Fighting on June 18th for their WCF 11 event. The Massachusetts native will be taking on the submission based fighter Noah Weisman (5-1) for the WCF lightweight title in the main event of the night.
Lauzon is the younger brother of current UFC fighter Joe Lauzon who participated in the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Dan had fought under the WCF banner four times between 2007 and 2008, winning all by early stoppages (1 submission / 3 knockouts). Coming off a first round submission victory over Damien Trites at CES: Snow Brawl, Lauzon is currently on a two fight winning streak. Lauzon has fought in his home state eight times, to which he has gone undefeated with no fight entering the third round.
Weisman has also fought under the WCF banner four times, going 3-1 during that span. Currently riding a three fight winning streak, Weisman is coming in to make the statement that he is #1 lightweight in the Northwest by defeating the hometown fighter.
WCF 11 happens at the Aleppo Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington, Massachusetts and will have a con-main event between Greg Rebello, who was eliminated in the entry round of TUF season 11 against Scott Rehm.
