A fight card, riddled with injuries and lacking a title fight brought out the naysayers for UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill. Claiming the card wasn’t worth it as usual, those naysayers were once again proven wrong as the card didn’t disappoint and end up being better than many of the highly anticipated cards fans drool over.
The event might have ended on a bit of a down slope but that’s only because the rest of the card had raised the bar pretty high.
The Facebook card opened with two very entertaining and fast passed fights that went the distance. The third and final Facebook fight saw Gleison Tibau earn submission of the night honors. The two Spike TV fights went the distance in both fights with Tim Boetsch making a successful middleweight debut, while Demetrious Johnson and Miguel Torres putting on an epic grappling clinic.
The main card saw Brian Stann open the PPV with a bang, earning fight of the night before Thiago Alves and Rick Story went toe to toe for three rounds. Next up was heavyweight clash that earned one of them an impressive knockout of the night before the night was close out with a co-main event and main event that couldn’t reach the bar that was set by the rest of the card.
