Dan Lauzon Captures Lightweight Title at WCF 11
At last night’s World Championship Fighting 11, the former UFC fighter Dan “The Upgrade” Lauzon took home the WCF lightweight championship in the night’s main event. The younger brother of current UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon, Dan came out aggressive and dominated his opponent for a 1st round knockout.
Lauzon’s opponent, Noah Weisman showed good footwork and head movement to avoid major damage early on, but it was only a matter of time before Lauzon landed a huge punch which knocked Weisman to the mat. Sensing his opportunity to end the fight, Lauzon followed Weisman down and unleashed a flurry of punches which connected and left Weisman momentarily unconscious for the Knockout victory.
The win was Lauzon’s third in a row after losing back to back fights in the UFC. At 15-4 overall and 15-1 outside the UFC, Lauzon has shown himself to be one of the top lightweight fighter in the Northeast.
WCF fans were also treated with special guests in attendance such as UFC Fighters Joe Lauzon, Josh “The Fluke” Grispi, Ken Stone, Marcus “The Irish Hand Grenade” Davis, Ultimate Fighter contestant Chuck “Cold Steel” O’Neil, U.S. Olympian Rick Hawn and former Boxing Middleweight Champion of the World “Dangerous” Dana Rosenblatt. WCF sends out a very big Thank You to all of our fighters, special guests and our fans four all of your support! We’ll see you next time at the fights!
