Dollaway welcomes Hamman to the Middleweight Division
CB Dollaway will look to bounce back from his first KO loss of his career by welcoming former Light Heavyweight Jared Hamman to the UFC’s middleweight division at UFC Live: Hardy vs Lytle on August 14th, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The fight is set to be aired as part of the Preliminary fights being shown on Facebook.
The former Arizona State University wrestler had won three in a row before dropping his last fight to Mark Munoz at UFC Live: Sanchez vs Kampmann. The BJJ Blue Belt who left Arizona Combat Sports to train with fellow ASU wrestlers Aaron Simpson and Ryan Bader at Power MMA and Fitness, will welcome Jared Hamman to the division and will also look to get back on track.
Dollaway was a finalist on the Ultimate Fighter season 7 where he was defeated by Amir Sadalloh by armbar, the 2nd time that season he had lost to the TUF winner. Winning two in a row after the loss, Dollaway dropped a fight to Tom Lawler before riding his 3 fight streak following the fight. The 27-year-old Dollaway will need a win to push himself back up the middleweight rankings in the UFC, after dropping down his last time out.
Jared Hamman drops to middleweight following his last loss to Kyle Kingbury at Light Heavyweight. The VMAT fighter is 1-2 in the UFC, earning Fight of the Night honors his last two fights, splitting those against Rodney Wallace and the aforementioned loss to Kingbury. Hamman dropped his UFC debut to Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 105.
The former college defensive end, who trains with UFC Light Heavyweight Vladimir Matyushenko, will look to begin a new life in the middleweight division, but a loss could send him packing from the UFC with a record of 1-3. Hamman has proven his toughness and ability to take shots in several of his fights and is willing to stand and bang with anyone in the Octagon.
One thing is for sure, both fighters are in desperate need of a win come Sunday.
