UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage Predictions
The UFC heads to the high altitude of Denver, Colorado for Saturday’s UFC 135: Jones vs. Rampage with a light heavyweight title fight anchoring the card. Returning to the location of the first two Ultimate Fighting Championships, it’s the promotions fourth trip to Denver and sixth trip overall to Colorado.
Coming off a third round TKO win over Mauricio Rua to capture the light heavyweight championship, Jon Jones (13-1) makes his first title defense against Rampage Jackson. The dynamic striker has been running through the competition since joining the UFC in August of 2008, with five consecutive finishes.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (32-8) lost his belt a month before Jones made his UFC debut and is looking to get “his” belt back. Jackson has gone 4-1 since losing the belt and enters the title fight on a two fight win streak. The charismatic fighter has been playing his usual mind games and some might say it’s been working.
The nights co-main event will see the former welterweight champion and UFC Hall a Famer, Matt Hughes (45-8) taking on the late replacement Josh Koscheck (15-5). Hughes was originally scheduled to face Diego Sanchez until a broken hand forced him to withdraw. This bout for Hughes marks the veteran’s final fight on his current contract and the future for him is uncertain.
The UFC 135 card might not be the biggest or most stacked card off the year but it does have several close matchups that could go either way. For a look at the betting lines and props for UFC 135, check out the exclusive MMAValor Betting Corner.
