Impact MMA Brings Pro MMA to the East Bay
The East Bay is a hot bed for Mixed Martial Arts, home to several top gyms and many current and former champions. Names like Cain Velasquez, Nick Diaz and Gilbert Melendez all train in the greater East Bay and have all fought on the world’s biggest stages. The one thing that’s long been missing for the local MMA fighters has been a locally promoted event in their backyard to showcase their skills in front of friends and family.
Until now!
On December 10th in Pleasanton, California at the Alameda County Fair Grounds, Impact MMA will hold their first ever event featuring 12 professional MMA bouts. Filled with names from all the top gyms in the area, Impact MMA: Recognition finally gives the fighters a local cage to call home.
The event will be headlined by a light heavyweight matchup between Cesar Gracie trained Roy Boughton (6-2) and Jeremy Freitag (6-9) from Urijah Faber’s Ultimate Fitness Gym. Boughton is coming off a big win at Shark Fights 18 and has fought against top fighters Murilo Rua and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.
Also on the card will be Ron Keslar from American Kickboxing Academy and making his professional debut, Jeremiah Labiano from Crispin BJJ.
Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased at www.impactfights.com with prices starting at the very affordable $25.00. The door at the Young California building at the Alameda County Fair Grounds will open up at 5pm with the first fight at 6pm.
Weigh-ins for the event will be open to the public on Friday December 9th, inside the banquet room at Athens Burgers in Dublin, California. There will also be a Pre-Fight Party and an After Party on the day of the event at the Mexico Lindo, located directly across the street from the Fairgrounds.
