Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale Bold Predictions
Introducing the bantamweights and featherweight to the reality series, TUF 14 was one of the series best to date. Now with the series over all that is left to do is crown two new champions at Saturdays TUF 14 Finale.
It all started with 32 fighters (16 featherweights & 16 bantamweights) and the field was cut in half with the opening elimination round, giving us the 16 fighters that would enter the TUF house. Featherweights Dennis Bermudez and Diego Brandao, plus bantamweights T.J. Dillashaw and John Dodson are in the finals but 15 of the 16 housemates will appear on the TUF 14 finale card. Semifinalist Akira Corassani was scheduled to face Steven Siler on the card but an injury forced him off the card and instead Josh Clopton will face Siler.
The card will be headlined, not by the finalist but with the coaches fighting for only the second time on the actual finale. Through the ten episodes it was perfectly clear that Michael Bisping and Jason Miller didn’t like each other and their fight should be nothing less than exciting.
The four fight main card will air on Spike TV and the six bout undercard will stream live on the Facebook.com UFC fan page.
Main card
185 lbs.: Michael Bisping will defeat Jason Miller by Unanimous Decision
- Neither one has knockout power but Bisping has the better striking while Miller has the better grappling. Problem is Bisping is not the easiest to take down and has never been submitted in his 24 career fights. Look for Bisping to outpoint, not beat Miller but trash talk after the fact as if he knocked Miller out.
145 lbs. TUF Finale: Diego Brandao will defeat Dennis Bermudez by 1 rd TKO
- In all his fights during the season Diego Brandao has been the most explosive fighter this season. That explosiveness coupled with his striking accuracy has allowed him to dominate. Bermudez hit hard and has the wrestling to put you on your back, BUT Brandao wastes no time and wins.
135 lbs. TUF Finale: T.J. Dillashaw will defeat John Dodson by Unanimous Decision
- Dillashaw is the bigger and stronger fighter but will have to catch the speedy Dodson first. The quickness of Dodson will give Dillashaw trouble early but Dillashaw will take over and get the takedowns in the second and third rounds to earn the decision.
155 lbs.: Tony Ferguson will defeat Yves Edwards by 2nd rd KO
- Edwards would do best if he took that fight to the ground but that’s not going to happen. That will play right into the strength of Ferguson who will use his boxing to soften Edwards up with the jab before knocking out his opponent in the second round.
Preliminary card
135 lbs.: Johnny Bedford will defeat Louis Gaudinot
145 lbs.: Stephen Bass will defeat Marcus Brimage
135 lbs.: Dustin Pague will defeat John Albert
135 lbs.: Roland Delorme will defeat Josh Ferguson
145 lbs.: Steven Siler will defeat Josh Clopton
145 lbs.: Bryan Caraway will defeat Dustin Neace
