Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Mavidal Medical Suspensions
Four fighters from Saturday’s Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Mavidal card were handed down indefinite suspensions this week from the California State Athletic Commission. The rough night of fights resulted in 10 fighters overall receiving suspensions ranging from 45 days to 180 days.
Main card fighters Jorge Masvidal, Billy Evangelista and K.J. Noons along with undercard fighter Devin Cole were all given the indefinite suspension and must gain doctor’s clearance before returning to action.
Currently all three are under an indefinite suspension from their fights last weekend in San Diego.

Gilbert Melendez: Suspended 45 days, no contact for 30 days due to a hard bout
Jorge Masvidal: Suspended 45 days, no contact for 30 days due to left eye cut; suspended indefinitely for right hand pain.
Hiroko Yamanaka: Suspended 45 days, no contact for 30 days for knockout
K.J. Noons: Suspended indefinitely due to decreased vision in left eye until cleared by physician
Billy Evangelista: Suspended indefinitely due to irritation in left eye until cleared by physician
Justin Wilcox: Suspended 45 days, no contact for 30 days due to knockout
Devin Cole: Suspended 60 days, no contact for 60 days due to cut on left eyelid; suspended indefinitely due to abrasion on left eyeball.
Jerron Peoples: Suspended 45 days, no contact for 30 days due to knockout
Herman Terrado: suspended 60 days, no contact for 60 days due to cut under left eye.
Cris Brown: Suspended 180 days, no contact for 180 days due to possible fracture in right foot and left hand.
