UFC Veteran Nate Quarry Officially Retires from MMA

It’s been nearly two years since MMA fans last saw veteran MMA competitor and former TUF cast member Nate ‘Rock’ Quarry compete inside the octagon, and unfortunately we won’t be seeing him fight again. On Thursday night’s episode of Spike TV’s new program MMA Uncensored Quarry officially announced his retirement from MMA competition.

Quarry is now the co-host of the show where he announced his retirement, along with MMA guru Mike Straka, and sportscaster Craig Carton, and it looks as though he plans to focus on his broadcasting career from here on out.

Quarry ends his professional career at an impressive 12-4, and holds victories over fabulous opponents like Jason MacDonald, Pete Sell, and Tim Credeur. We’re sure Quarry would have liked to go out with a win, but he suffered a defeat in what is to be his final UFC appearance against Jorge Rivera at UFC Fight Night: Florian vs. Gomi.

Regardless of his last outing against Rivera, who also hung up the gloves towards the end of 2011, Quarry gave MMA fans exciting and spirited performances inside the cage. It’s good to see that Quarry is making the transition from fighter to analyst with such grace and poise.

Cheers, to a class act all the way around, and for healthy and fulfilling retirement.
