The Swedish MMA Federation released the medical suspensions from last Saturday’s UFC on Fuel TV 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva event. The suspensions were short and were only issued to Alessio Sakara and Paulo Thiago, as they were the only two fighters who suffered knockout losses.
According to George Sallfeldt, President of the Swedish MMA Federation both fighters have been suspended for 28 days.
Paulo Thiago was knocked by UFC newcomer Siyar Bahadurzada just 42 seconds into the fight while lunging in. The KO was brutal and if the fight were in the states would have easily landed him a 60 – 90 day suspension.
Alessio Sakara Took on Brian Stann in the night’s co-main event and quickly found himself on his back. From there Stann dropped down some evil ground and pound that turned the light out on Sakara just 2:26 into the opening round.
The rest of the fights either ended in a decision or a submission and no other fighter’s were issued a suspension. UFC on FUEL TV 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva took place last Saturday from the Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe Arena.
