Tickets for UFC on FOX: Shogun vs. Vera on sale TODAY!
On August 4th the UFC on FOX will bring the promotion back to the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the first time in over two years with a light heavyweight main event between former champion Shogun Rua and Brandon Vera. Rua was also the headliner the last time the UFC was at the Staples Center back at UFC 104 on October 24th, 2009. Though he lost a close and controversial decision to Lyoto Machida, he would later defeat Machida to capture UFC gold.
Machida will also be on the UFC on Fox card as he’ll be taking on Ryan Bader in the night’s co-main event.
The card was originally scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight bout between Brian Stann and Hector Lombard before an injury to Stann forced a change at the top. Both Rua and Vera were schedule to fight other opponents at separate events before being moved to face each other at UFC on Fox.
Tickets for the event go on presale today at 10am PT / 1pm ET for all UFC Fight Club members. If you are on the UFC Newsletter mailing list you can purchase tickets on Thursday and on Friday they go on sale to the general public.
