Bellator Light Heavyweights look to scrap their way into the Finals
Tonight Bellator returns for their 72nd event showcased in the sunny Tampa Florida. The Light Heavyweight Semi-Finals will take place setting up who will have a chance to steal the belt away from the newly crowned champ. A good mix of the nations outside of the UFC talent will square off and will we will be sure to catch great free fights tonight on MTV 2.
First up will be predominant striker Tim Carpenter will meet the tough veteran Travis Wiuff. Carpenter will be a game opponent and should create an interesting fight but could easily be outclassed early by the incredibly tough and durable Wiuff. Wiuff has a dangerous grappling and striking game, and even dominated the current Bellator Light Heavyweight champ Christian M’Pumbu in a non title fight. This will be another great platform for Wiuff to shine and you should expect no less than an incredible finish or dominant decision from the veteran.
Second off the tough grappler in Emanuel Newton will meet a great foreign prospect in Attila Vegh. Both fighters have nice submissions under their belt and will most likely turn this fight technical early. Whoever gets the best of the wrestling will most likely come away with this one. Odds wise Newton has the better wrestling pedigree and should be the favorite but Vegh is tough and dangerous everywhere as well. This should be a great fight and will most likely deliver some clip for the post show highlight reel.
Be sure to catch the welterweight tournament final and light heavyweight semi finals tonight, plus the much awaited returns of incredible UFC strikers Paul Daley and Ben Saunders tonight live and free on MTV 2. If you haven’t seen all the great fights Bellator has delivered over the year tonight would be a great night to start.
