BAMMA 11 Fight card Nearly Complete
The next British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) fight card to be held on Saturday December 1st is filling up fast and currently sits at 14 fights and counting. BAMMA 11 will be held at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, UK and feature at least two title fights.
Looking to continue the momentum from BAMMA 10 in September, the promotion has piled this card with talent. The BAMMA 11 card still doesn’t have a set main event and the promotion has said they will be announcing more fights shortly but here is how the card currently stands.
BAMMA 11 Fight Card (Subject to change):
205 lbs.: LINTON VASSELL VS. JASON JONES
Linton Vassell (10-3-1) has only been fighting four years but he’s already won two British titles, plus medals that include Gold in the 2010 NOGI British Open Championships. Veteran Holland fighter Jason Jones (18-9) is a Judo Black Belt and has fought in such organizations as M-1 Global, Shooto, K-1, King of the Cage, Deep and United Glory.
185 lbs.: TBA VS. ALEX REID
Alex Reid (9-9-1, 1nc) hasn’t fought since August of 2011 where he snapped a lengthy losing streak.
170 lbs. Title: WARREN KEE VS. TOM BREESE (BAMMA Lonsdale Title Bout)
Birmingham homeboy, Tom Breese (5-0) is only 20 years old and is one of the UK’s most exciting Welterweight prospects. Warren Kee comes with a record of 7-1-1 and a devastating striking style in which he likes to grind his opponents down with relentless pressure.
155 lbs.: STEVE RAY VS. DALE HARDIMAN (BAMMA Lonsdale Title Bout)
Judo black belt Steve Ray (11-3) has been dominant the Scottish circuit and current wears the On Top Welterweight title under his waist. Ray will drop down in weight for BAMMA 11 to take a shot at the new BAMMA Lonsdale British Lightweight title belt.Dale Hardiman (9-3) has earned the majority of his wins via submission and will be making his third BAMMA appearance after wins at BAMMA 7 and 10.
205 lbs.: ANTH TAYLOR VS. MAX NUNES
Anth Taylor is undefeated at 5-0 with none of his fights have gone the distance and only one going longer than the first round. Like his opponent, Max Nunes (8-0) is also undefeated and has finished all his fights so something is going to have to give at BAMMA 11.
205 lbs.: MARCIN LAZARZ VS. SAM MENSAH
London-based Polish fighter, Marcin Lazarz (4-0) will be making his promotional debut at BAMMA 11 and is coming off a TKO victory over Neil Bittong. Sam Mensah (4-0) is currently ranked at number 12 in the UK rankings and is the holder of the fastest knockout in BAMMA history at 8 seconds .
135 lbs.: JAMES DOOLAN VS. SPENCER HEWITT
James Doolan (16-8) has held four different British titles throughout his career and brings a championship background in Kickboxing and Muay Thai as well. Spencer Hewitt has a professional MMA record of 9-3 and a ground game that has helped him win UK title at the Flyweight and Bantamweight division.
155 lbs.: RICHIE DOWNES VS. JEREMY PETLEY
Jeremy Petley (8-4) returns to the BAMMA cage scoring a Rear-Naked Choke win against Dyson Roberts at BAMMA 10. Richie Downes (7-1-0-2) bring in a seven fight winning streak and hasn’t lost since his 2007 debut.
155 lbs.: MARC ALLEN VS DYSON ROBERTS
Marc Allen (6-1) is a powerful wrestler with a good all round game, while his opponent Dyson Roberts (5-3) leans to the striking side of things.
145 LBS.: ANDREW FISHER VS. DIEGO VITAL
Andrew Fisher (10-4-1) fought primarily at lightweight but is coming off a win in his first fight at featherweight. Brazilian Diego Vital (9-3) has finished all but one of his wins inside the opening round, seven of those via Rear Naked Choke submission.
185 lbs.: CHRIS DOUGLAS VS. YANNICK BAHATI
Douglas enters BAMMA 11 with a 4-0 record and the claim to have yet to go the distance in a fight at both the amateur and professional level. Birmingham’s own Yannick Bahati brings a 2-0 record and a boxing background to watch out for.
135 lbs.: NATHAN GREYSON VS. BRIAN CREIGTON
Nathan Greyson (3-1) has yet to go the distance in his fights with his explosive, relentlessly aggressive style that has allowed the 22-year-old to dominate his opponents. Bryan Creighton is still new to MMA but had a very successful Thai-boxing career in which he won several championships.
170 lbs.: JONNY BILTON VS. LEON EDWARDS
Jonny Bilton holds a 2-1 record with both those wins coming in the first round. Leon Edwards comes in with the same record as his opponent but his one loss came from a DQ.
205 lbs.: THOMAS DENHAM VS. MIKE NEUN
Thomas Denham (4-2) Denham is the current Knuckleforce Light Heavyweight champion following his 57 second win against David Wilson three weeks ago. Mike Neun (3-1) lost his BAMMA 10 bout but has a very strong Muay Thai background that including winning multiple ISKA title.
