Pat Barry vs Shane Del Rosario set for TUF 16 Finale
Team Carwin’s striking coach Pat Barry will be joining the TUF 16 head coach Shane Carwin on The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale fight card on December 15th. Carwin will oppose fellow head coach Roy Nelson in the night’s main event, while Barry will take on former Strikeforce heavyweight Shane del Rosario.
Always one to put on a good show, fan favorite Pat Barry (7-5) is coming off a TKO loss to Lavar Johnson back in May. The kickboxer has been a part of some memorial fights inside the Octagon but has managed just a sub-par record of 4-5. Barry lives and dies by the sword, which is what makes him so popular but also has him treading water in the UFC.
Shane del Rosario (11-1) made his promotional debut at UFC 146 and suffered the first loss of his career against Stipe Miocic. The fight came on the heels of a lengthy 15 month layoff between fights due to a herniated disc suffered in a car accident.
Barry and del Rosario are very similar in styles and have only gone the distance once in their combined 24 total fights. Their bout is an exciting addition to the card that will also crowned the next Ultimate Fighter winner.
The TUF 16 finale will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas,Nevada and the main card will air live on FX. Until then, you can watch Pat Barry and help train the welterweights on Team Carwin every Friday Night on The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs Team Nelson.
