BAMMA 11 To be Headlined by Marshman vs Foupa-Pokam
Today BAMMA announced that middleweights Jack Marshman and Xavier Foupa-pokum would face each other in the BAMMA 11 main event on December 1st. Now with a main event in place, BAMMA 11 currently has 13 fights including a welterweight title fight and Lonsdale British lightweight title bout.
Jack Marshman (11-1) has fought in the last four events with BAMMA and was the promotions first British middleweight champion. After a successful title defense Marshman fought for the BAMMA middleweight title, losing to Tom Watson via TKO. Marshman was set to defend that British title once again at BAMMA 10 but he was stripped of that belt after missing weight for his bout against Andrew Punshon. Marshman did win his bout with Punshon via submission and will look to continue his way back to a title at BAMMA 11.
The MMA veteran Xavier Foupa-Pokam (22-18) is actually coming off a loss this weekend at Super Fight League 6. Having fought Cage Rage, UFC as well as BAMMA the French-born fighter will easily have an experience edge over his opponent. Foupa-Pokam though has had trouble winner since making his UFC debut in April of 2009, winning just two fights in 11 bouts. Foupa-Pokam does hold a win over the former BAMMA middleweight champion Tom Watson back at Cage Rage 21.
