The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale Bold Predictions
Not only is The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale taking place this weekend but the second international version of the reality shot, TUF: Smashes will also be holding their finale in Australia. With the time difference the Australian card airs on Friday, while the domestic TUF 16 finale will air live on Saturday from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Typically The Ultimate Fighter finales are loaded with fighters from the show but this season was lacking in the excitement and only the two finalists will appear on the fight card. It wouldn’t be the UFC in 2012 if there wasn’t an injury that changed the fight card at the top and with TUF 16 coach Shane Carwin injured, Matt Mitrione has stepped in to face Roy Nelson in the night’s finale. The injuries have played havoc on predictions and betting all year but you can click here for more information if you’re so inclined.
With only one fight left in The Ultimate Fighter 16, the finals will be Mike Ricci of Team Carwin against Colton Smith of Team Nelson. The two fighters are completely different in their styles and where the fight ends up being contested at will likely determine the season’s winner.
The rest of The Ultimate Fighter 16 fight card looks more like a UFC PPV card than one on free TV to crown another Ultimate Fighter. Even the UFC 147 fight card that saw the TUF: Brazil finale take place wasn’t nearly as good of a card as this one. With fights like Pat Barry vs. Shane Del Rosario, Melvin Guillard vs. Jamie Varner and Jonathan Brookins vs. Dustin Poirier on the main card, the UFC is giving the fans another stacked card for free.
As we continue our final push we went 8-3 last week at UFC on FOX 5 to bring the overall total to 189-131 (59%) for the year. The Ultimate Fighter 16 complete fight card feature 12 more chances, here are our predictions.
