Bellator 91

Tonight at Bellator 91 the promotion re-introduced their light heavyweight champion and then crowned a brand new one. The champion hadn’t fought in 16 months and looked horrible, yet the challenger didn’t look that great either.

Christian M’Pumbu was making his first title defense against the 2012 summer series tournament winner Attila Vegh. What could have been a fantastic slugfest ended up being a slow-moving boring fight. The action was nowhere to be found in the Bellator 91 main event but at least the judges got the decision right.

The lightweight tournament semi-finals held down the remaining two Bellator 91 main card bouts. Saad Awad continued his knockout run with another first round knockout, while David Rickels dominated. Awad and Rickels will now face off later this season in the tournament finals.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
