All make weight at UFC on FUEL TV 9 Weigh-ins
While most of you were at work today the fighters for tomorrow’s UFC on FUEL TV 9 hit the scales today on Stockholm, Sweden. All 26 fighters made weight without issue this morning and are set to step into the Octagon tomorrow morning.
The weigh-ins was for the most part uneventful, with the exception being the stare down between lightweights Michael Johnson and Reza Madadi. Johnson who was dressed like Waldo from “Where’s Waldo” and his opponent Madadi got a bit heated and their little scuffle had to be broken up. Their preliminary fight should be interesting but someone needs to get in the ear of Johnson and advise him against wearing that Waldo outfit ever again.
The UFC on FUEL TV 9 main event was supposed to be a light heavyweight showdown between top ranked Alexander Gustafsson and former Dream and Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi. A cut to the Swede above the eye forced a late change and the unknown teammate of Gustafsson, Llir Latifi was called in as the replacement.
Remember that things get started very early tomorrow for those on the west coast. The seven UFC on FUEL TV 9 preliminary fights gets started on Facebook at approximately 7:50am PT / 10:50am ET so make sure to set your alarm accordingly. The main card on FUEL TV starts at 11am PT / 2pm ET and will feature six more fights.
