VICTORY COMBAT SPORTS ENTERS MIXED MARTIAL ARTS RING

May 17th Program in NYC to Mark First Sanctioned New York State MMA Event

NEW YORK, NY – Victory Combat Sports (www.VictoryCombatSports.com) has arrived. In an era where Mixed Martial Arts has become the fastest growing sport in North America, Victory Combat Sports co-founders Kevin Lillis and Justin Blair have launched a new organization exclusively dedicated to producing MMA events throughout the Northeast.

Lillis and Blair formed the sports marketing and production company with the hopes of leveraging their unique backgrounds and experience to capitalize on the public’s increasing appetite for mixed martial arts. After nearly two decades focusing on muay thai at their popular Friday Night Fights (www.fridaynightfights.com) events, they decided it was time to expand their scope with Victory Combat Sports.

In addition to his role as CEO, Lillis brings with him over 15 years experience within the hospitality and real estate industries, while COO Blair has over two decades of sports marketing and production experience spanning over 225 events in six states.

“We’re looking to try something new with Victory Combat Sports,” says Lillis. “Our intention is to take it slow and grow organically. We want our fighters and fans to know that they are a part of something special in the MMA world, and we recognize that this is a marathon, not a sprint.”

In addition to their own expertise, Lillis and Blair have built a team out of an unlikely group that includes Michelin-starred chef John Fraser from New York’s acclaimed Dovetail, as well as Newport, RI’s newest City Councilman (and former US Army Captain) Marc Camacho.

With their focus primarily centered on the Northeast, Victory Combat Sports will officially kick things off May 17th by hosting back-to-back MMA events in New York and Boston. The excitement will begin May 17th at Terminal 5 in New York City, followed by a second night of prize fights on May 18th at the Dorchester Armory in Boston, MA. All weight classes will be represented, and men and women will be fighting on both nights.

The May 17th fight card will feature Pan Am Gold Medalist and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Phenom Marcus Surin.
