Latest MMA Valor Fighter Rankings for June 2013
With Bellator still on summer vacation it was up to the UFC and its fighters to potentially alter this month’s MMA fighter rankings. Since the last rankings came out there were three UFC events resulting in two new fighters breaking into their divisions top 5.
At UFC 160 heavyweight Antonio Silva lost once again to Cain Velasquez in the first round and as a results dropped out of the fifth position. moving into his place was Roy Nelson, who is fighting this coming weekend against Stipe Miocic in the UFC 161 co-main event. Nelson is riding a three fight winning streak but holds a loss against two of the fighters currently ranked higher than him.
The biggest jump on the Fighter rankings goes to lightweight TJ Grant who went from being un-ranked to the #4 spot after knocking out the previously #3 ranked Gray Maynard. The win earned Grant a title fight against Benson Henderson and the loss dropped Maynard out of the top five. The Henderson vs. Grant lightweight title fight is set to take place on August 31st at UFC 164.
The remainder of the month of June will have plenty of action as the UFC, Bellator and WSOF will all hold events over the next 10 days.
