MMA Valor Local Corner: WFC 7 Takes Place this Weekend
Ask any MMA fan what’s happening this weekend and you’ll more than likely get “UFC 167” as the response. You couldn’t fault them though since it is the promotions 20th anniversary PPV and all, but like most Saturday nights the UFC isn’t the only ones putting on MMA action.
In Sacramento, California West Coast Fighting Championship has a pretty large fight card taking place from the Jackson Sports Arena. WFC 7 features two titles fights, 13 fights overall and two of which will be amateur bouts. The card has seen a crazy amount of changes including former Strikeforce fighter Scott Smith, who was to defend his middleweight title. Smith was schedule to face the promotions current welterweight champion Max Griffin in a highly anticipated bout. Unfortunately Smith suffered an injury and Griffin will now face Fernando Gonzalez for the WFC interim middleweight title.
