Pound for pound the best fight promotion on the planet, Invicta FC returns for its seventh show stacked to the rafters with talent. There are three straps on the line this time around, as Barb Honchak looks to defend the 125lb belt against ultra-talented Leslie Smith, while Carla Esparza battles Claudia Gadelha at 115lbs, and Lauren Murphy and Miriam Nakamoto fight for the inaugural Bantamweight belt.
WSOF is going international with shows planned in New Zealand, Japan and in any city that’ll have them, but they start this worldwide expansion in the great white North of Canada with this Saturday’s WSOF 7. Injury and visa issues leave us with a depleted card, but for my money the issues have just cut through the chaff on the card, leaving us with hungry fighters looking to shine on the world stage.
A card for hardcore LFC fans as some of the best the promotion has to offer will be in display during Friday night’s LFC 26. It’s a fight card that’s set to go fast, with murderous finishers across the board headlined by the former WEC and UFC fighter Leonard Garcia fighting for the featherweight title.
The UFC will travel abroad once again this weekend for the UFC Fight Night 33. Instead of Brazil, this time they are touching down in Brisbane, Australia, with a slew of Aussie fighters chomping at the bit to fight on the big show. Our main event features Aussie legend Mark Hunt, as he looks to keep afloat at the top of the division, facing Brazilian monster Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.
The Nemesis Top Ten is a list of lesser known or much less regarded fighters that would pose a back matchup to a current top ten fighter and potentially pull of the upset.
It was a tremendously poor night of fights, both inside the TUF 18 Finale cage and with the constant bombardment of advertising throughout the evening. The horrible pacing of the show had me almost wishing I’d wasted money on a PPV. Men and women rose and fell with different tidbits catching my eye throughout the night.
The Ultimate Fighter 18 was an odd season of TUF to stay the least, the women brought it, while a record amount of male fighters were dispatched by cinnamon rolls and pizza rather than their fellow competitors.
With Sergio Pettis vacating the RFA flyweight title to join the UFC, last night’s RFA 11 was headlined by a flyweight fight for that vacant belt. Former Bellator bantamweight champion Zach Makovsky took on Matt Manzanares with hopes of following in the footsteps of the former champion.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
