Did the Stars Come out at UFC 169?
With 2014 just beginning, the UFC is without many of its top draws and UFC 169 didn’t actually help in that matter.
An eventful UFC 167 to say the least, we had a main card that shined like a diamond, though the end left a bitter taste in many people’s mouths. We’re here to talk about the art of fighting itself though, so here’s what I picked out of the fray tonight.
Twenty years are a long time, but Tomorrows UFC 167 in the fight capital of the world will play host the Ultimate Fighting Championships two decade anniversary show. Obviously the historic event deserves a star-studded lineup of fighters and the UFC did not disappoint.
The 20th Anniversary of the UFC brings about one of the biggest cards in their history, with top-tier talent across the board at UFC 167. Our main event is the anticipated title tilt between GSP and welterweight juggernaut Johny Hendricks, in a true test of the champion’s mettle and Hendricks drive to win.
In the middle of a marathon stretch of MMA, the UFC hit up Brazil with a card full of unknowns. Even if I couldn’t tell the Silvas from the Souzas from the Silverios, there were a few guys who caught my eye, for better or worse. Here’s where my mind was at during a ho-hum evening of combat.
The UFC is once again raking up the frequent flyer miles as they return to Brazil for tomorrows UFC Fight Night 28. If you’re thinking to yourself didn’t we just do this, the answer would be yes because UFC Fight Night 28 is the third UFC event in the last seven days.
