At last night’s Bellator 41 Patricio “Pitbull” Freire moved into the finals by improving his record against Wilson Reis to 2-0 with his third round KO. In their first bout at Bellator 18 Freire won a unanimous decision but last night he one upped himself with a devastating flurry of punches that finished the fight.

Two fantastic fights went to the third round where both fighters finished their opponents, one with a devastating submission the other a devastating knock out.
Zach Makovsky Scores first Career Knockout at Bellator 41
Coming into his non-title bout against Chad Robichaux at Bellator 41, Bantamweight champion Zach Makovsky had never tasted victory by way of knockout. The wrestler out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania had a record of 12-2 in his 14 professional bouts with wins via submission five times and seven decisions, yet no knockouts.

Saturday Night, Bellator again took it to the cage on MTV2 and delivered a great night of action. The fighters on the main card did their best to keep decisions away from the judges, and in the main event, we found out why. Joe Warren was out-struck and out-wrestled for most of the 15 minutes spent in the cage with Marcos Galvao and was given a gift of a decision from the judges at ringside. It was the lone lowlight of a tremendous event.

What’s even more interesting than Warren headlining a card and not defending his title is his announcement of returning to amateur wrestling.

Bellator Fighting Championship makes its second trip of season four to the west coast for Saturdays Bellator 41 from the Cocopah Resort and Casino in Yuma, Arizona. The last time they came this far west was for the season first event, Bellator 35 back on March 5th.
The main card of Bellator 41 features four bouts showcasing the little guys in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. The featherweight tournament will continue with the two semifinal bouts taking place with a spot in the final on the line. The winner of the season four tournament will earn a shot at the Bellator featherweight champion, Joe Warren.
