Coming to you from the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma, season four of Bellator continues with Bellator 40 this Saturday April 9th. The finals of the welterweight and lightweight tournament will be set as the last of the semifinal bouts will take place on the main card of Bellator 40.
Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben Askren might be waiting some time to finally defend his Welterweight title, but he will still face a tough fight as he takes on MMA veteran Nick “The Goat” Thomspon at Bellator 40, which takes place at the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
It’s another big weekend in the Mixed Martial Arts universe. MFC, Strikeforce and Bellator are all in action, with shows airing on HDNet, Showtime and MTV2 and there are some VERY interesting fights out there vying for your hard earned betting dollar. I’m only going to be looking to put money on the televised main cards, so we’re going to start with MFC and find out if there are any worthwhile bets out there.
Super free agent Jay Hieron has announced that he has signed to fight for Bellator Fighting Championships. Fighting out of Xtreme Couture camp, he sports a 19-4-0 record, though his biggest fight is likely his loss to Georges St. Pierre way back at UFC 48 in 2004.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.

All the fighters for tomorrow’s TUF Live Finale were on weight as they stepped onto the scales inside the Pearl at the Palms. The 20 fighters, including 12 of the 16 TUF Live fighters will begin entering the Octagon tomorrow starting at 2:45pm PT / 5:45pm ET.
