The I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio was the host for tonight’s Bellator 66 and its jam-packed 10 bout fight card. In front of a packed house and airing on MTV2 and Spkie.com Bellator 66 saw four tournament bouts and was headlined by a lightweight rematch between Eddie Alvarez and Shinya Aoki.

All 20 fighters made weight today for Saturday’s Bellator 66 which takes place inside the I-X Center Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Thankfully the fighters made stepping onto the scale uneventful, but that didn’t mean their stare downs didn’t get a little interesting.

Despite losing the heavyweight tournament final bout between Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos, Bellator 62 shined with a main card featuring all four quarterfinal lightweight tournament bouts. With the main event scratched, Bellator 62 was headlined by a barn burner of a fight between lightweight tournament returnees Lloyd Woodard and Patricky Freire that ended a  night filled with great highlights.

Bellator’s sixth season is underway and two tournaments have completed their quarterfinal rounds. Tonight’s Bellator 62 features the start of the lightweight tournament with a stack group of eight fighters.

Two former Bellator welterweight tournament contenders are making the drop to 155 lbs. to compete in this season’s lightweight tournament that starts at tonight Bellator 62. As if the new weight cut wasn’t enough, both fighters will also be facing Bellator newcomers, which should make for some great quarterfinal round action.

What a mess the season five heavyweight tournament has turned out to be. It all started with eight heavyweights with Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos emerging as the finalists. With a shot at the heavyweight crown, the two fought at Bellator 59 on November 26th, effectively ruining the tournament.
