With severe weather and a tornado warning outside the Arena Theater in Houston, Texas, Legacy Fighting Championship 11 entertained fans with 11 MMA bouts. The night’s main card, which was headlined by a lightweight title fight, was broadcasted live on HDNet.
Last night from the Houston Arena Theatre in Houston, Texas, MMA fans were treated to Legacy Fighting Championship 10. Live on HDNet, LFC put on an action packed night of fights with six televised main card bouts anchored by two former UFC fighters. Both Gerald Harris and Pat Audinwood walked away with victories in their LFC debuts in completely different fashions.
If you stayed up late last night / early this morning to watch DREAM 17 you saw another solid yet long Japanese Mixed Martial Arts event. The card saw the opening round of the eight man bantamweight tournament along with many of the top JMMA competitors.
The fan outcry for the possible reason to why Gerald Harris (18-4) was cut from the UFC was diluted even more last night when Harris took on Anthony Ruiz (25-16) at Tachi Palace Fights 9: Contenders. Harris came into the fight with a two fight losing streak and who was coming off a local show loss to the relatively unknown James Head.
Both UFC 122 & UFC 123 were a brisk reminder to all fighters in the organization the importance of every fight, and 4 fighters were given the boot following their losses some more surprising than others.
UFC 123 is now in the books and following a solid undercard, the main card did not disappoint. The main card saw two submission finishes, one TKO finish and two decisions (one split & one unanimous).
The UFC returns to PPV this Saturday, November 20th as UFC 123 invades The Palace of Auburn Hills and returns to Michigan for the first time in over ten years. Three fighters have had to pull out due to injury and personal issues, but were all replaced and the show will go on.
The UFC gets no rest this week as just seven days removed from UFC 122 in Germany; they are doing it all over again Saturday for UFC 123. The event takes place in Michigan for only the second time in UFC history and the first time May of 1996.
