Titles, superstars and tournament finals make Bellator 108 a must-see event, with stellar fight potential across the board. Our main event features a fighter chomping at the bit, as Quinton Jackson takes Ortiz injury in stride and signed to fight Joey Beltran on short notice. We also have a heavyweight encounter that should actually be a good one, as Alexander Volkov looks to defend the strap against Vitaly Minakov.
The featherweights were on display tonight at Bellator 103 with the tournament semi-finals, and all four men brought their best effort to cage. We can only have one tournament winner though and with Wilcox and Pitbull having fought very different fights, it’ll take some deep thinking to figure out the outcome of their eventual clash.
We all love tournaments, and Bellator rolled out its glorious Featherweight bracket tonight, with plenty of amazing action across the board at Bellator 99. One of the best parts of a tournament is figuring out how the bracket pans out down the road, and my eyes were on the screen non-stop; taking it all in.
Tonight was the big night for Bellator MMA and Spike as Bellator 85 opened the promotions eighth season in their new home. The event was stacked with two title fights as well as three of the four opening round bouts in the light heavyweight tournament. A tournament that quickly has been turned upside down as two underdogs pulled off big wins.
Bellator is set to return with it’s 8th season as they move into the new home on Spike TV on a new night. After their long ans at time rough stint with the UFC, Spike has moved on and will now being airing the weekly tournament. This Thursday, yes I said Thursday, Bellator will have two title fights plus the beginning of the light heavyweight tournament at Bellator 85.
The 2012 year ended with a barrage of event in December, including UFC 155 that would reshape to the top of the heavyweight MMA rankings. Junior Dos Santos defended his title in a rematch against Cain Velasquez in the night’s main event with the challenger avenging his only loss and recapturing the title.
Daniel Straus (20-4) has cemented his title shot for the Bellator featherweight belt. If he wanted to, he could just coast on his accomplishments and wait for it. But that’s not his style; instead Straus will be fighting at Bellator 78 against UFC vet Alvin Robinson.
Last month saw little change to the MMA Fighter Rankings, while this month balanced things out with plenty of changes. The month on July saw most of the top middleweights in the world in action and the results have re-worked the division rankings

Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.
